How to report an error

How we handle requests

We aim to assess credible reports fairly, verify the relevant facts and make appropriate updates. When a correction materially changes an article's meaning, we aim to clearly explain the change on the article itself rather than silently rewriting it.

Corrections, clarifications and updates

A correction addresses a factual error. A clarification improves wording that may mislead. An update reflects genuinely new information. These should not be presented as the same thing.
