The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance exercises across selected communities in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Tema Regions between Monday, July 20 and Thursday, July 23, 2026.
According to ECG, the maintenance works are part of ongoing efforts to improve the reliability, efficiency, and stability of electricity supply.
During the exercise, power supply will be temporarily interrupted in the affected communities.
The power distributor has apologized to customers for the inconvenience and urged residents and businesses to make the necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled outages.

Maintenance is scheduled between approximately 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with some areas experiencing outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Abuakwa
Besease
Maakro
Topman
Sokoban
Suame
Breman
Kronum
Aboabo
Dichemso
Oforikrom
Kotei
KNUST surroundings
Airport Residential Area
And several surrounding communities.
Greater Accra Region Maintenance
Customers in parts of the Greater Accra Region will also experience temporary service interruptions.
Communities affected include areas around:
Adenta
Madina
Dome
Ashale Botwe
Haatso
Atomic
North Legon
Adjiringanor
East Legon Hills
And neighbouring communities.
Maintenance is expected to take place during daytime hours.
Central Region Scheduled Outage
In the Central Region, ECG will carry out maintenance works affecting parts of the Cape Coast Bulk Supply Point (BSP).
Communities expected to experience temporary outages include:
Cape Coast Metropolis
KEEA Municipality
Mfantseman Municipality
Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese
Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem
Assin North and South
Twifo areas
Upper Denkyira
Gomoa communities
And surrounding towns.
The maintenance is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Tema Region Maintenance Schedule
ECG will also undertake maintenance works in the Tema Region on:

Tema New Town
Sakumono
Baatsona
Lashibi
Bethlehem
White Estates
Kpone
Kpone Industrial Area
Golf City
Ashaiman suburbs

Customers in these locations should expect temporary power interruptions during the scheduled maintenance period.
ECG Issues Safety Advisory
ECG has advised residents to stay away from ongoing maintenance sites, overhead electrical installations, and power equipment while engineers carry out the upgrade works.
The company emphasized that these projects are aimed at strengthening the electricity distribution network to provide customers with a more stable and reliable power supply.
Residents are also encouraged to:
Charge essential electronic devices before the outage.
Switch off sensitive electrical appliances to prevent damage when power is restored.
Make alternative arrangements for businesses that rely heavily on electricity.
Avoid interfering with ECG personnel and maintenance equipment.
