ECG invests GH¢4.2m to fix low voltage in Enchi, Mpohor
Acting Managing Director Ing. Kwame Kpekpena said the projects are designed to improve power quality and stabilise supply in the affected communities, as part of a wider effort to strengthen the national distribution network. At Enchi, ECG has awarded a GH¢2,040,853.43 contract to Messrs Possible Power Limited to reinstate a 10-kilometre 33kV link between Enchi and Dadieso, which will be supplied from the new Juaboso Bulk Supply Point. When completed, the feeder from Juaboso BSP to Enchi will be about 89 kilometres long, a major improvement over the current setup, where Enchi is fed by a 33kV line from Esiama stretching roughly 147 kilometres. ECG said an alternative feeder from Bogoso, at about 122 kilometres, has also been unsuitable because of low voltage caused by overloading on a Ghana Grid Company transformer there. The Enchi works include the installation of 29 treated poles, the stringing of more than 21 kilometres of conductor, the installation of a 33kV GIS load isolator, and…
